International Dot Day

We celebrated International Dot Day with an activity that started on September 15th and that will continue throughout the school year. We need a jar, colored cardboard circles and of course the desire to make our mark. Whenever we’re in the playground, working in groups or just walking down the hall, whenever we’re helpful, whenever we help someone out, whenever we give someone a pat on the back…we make our mark and we write the action in the colored cardboard circles and put them in the jar. What happens when we fill up the jar halfway? After taking a vote, our second grade class decided that we were going to watch a movie in class, complete with popcorn and treats. And if we manage to fill it up to the top? A water festival!

Together, we can all make our mark.
